Festivals of Goa – Original Watercolour Paintings
Goa’s festivals are filled with colour, devotion, music and memories shared across generations. From Ganesh Chaturthi and Diwali to the lively celebrations of Carnival, São João and Shigmo, each festival reflects a different side of Goan life.
This series captures familiar moments from these celebrations, including the decorations, traditional clothing, processions, rituals and joyful gatherings that make each festival so special. For Goans living away from home, these paintings may bring back memories of family celebrations, neighbourhood festivities and traditions they grew up with.
Each artwork is an original hand-painted watercolour by Professor Raj Halankar, a veteran Mumbai-based Goan artist and former professor at the Sir J.J. School of Applied Art, who has been a part of our studio since inception.
As each piece is individually hand-painted, slight variations are part of the originality of the artwork.
