About Us

Goa Decor is a boutique heritage store based in Panaji, Goa, founded by Ar. Roopa Kunkolienker, an architect and interior designer and a Goan by blood, ancestry and belonging. Her family’s roots in Goa run deep, across generations.

The inspiration for Goa Decor came from something far more personal than a market gap. Roopa grew up spending summers across four ancestral family homes in Goa old houses full of character, craft and memory. Those summers left an impression that never faded. 

Years later, when she looked around and saw none of that beauty reflected in what Goa was offering visitors to take home, she decided to do something about it.

Goa Decor was born in 2020, part homage, part mission. 

Every design originates from Roopa’s research into Goan history, architecture, craft traditions and cultural memory, before being brought to life by skilled local artisans.

Why It Matters

Goa has a rich and layered identity: Portuguese colonial history, Hindu traditions, Catholic culture, coastal craft, and a spirit unlike anywhere else in India. Very little of that finds its way into what visitors are offered to take home. Every piece at Goa Decor is our answer to that gap. Something you can hold, display, or gift knowing it was designed here, made here, and means something.
