Traditional Occupations of Goa – Caricature 

A playful tribute to the people and professions that were once a familiar part of everyday life in Goa.

This series brings together some of Goa’s traditional occupations through caricature-style graphic art, created using modern methods of digital illustration while drawing inspiration from the people, attire and everyday scenes associated with old Goa.

From the Poder and fisherwoman to farmers, vendors, artisans and many other familiar figures, each artwork captures the character of an occupation that formed an important part of Goa’s social and cultural landscape.

Printed in A4 size and presented in a distressed-style frame, these artworks have been created as contemporary mementos of Goa — connecting memories of traditional livelihoods with a modern visual language.
